Round-about Live is an exhibition of collaborative drawing that took place at The Art Organisation in Nottingham from the 28th August 8th September 2008

Round-about is a project run by local artist and curator Anna Marlen-Summers. It began life as a postal endeavour to organise the creation of images made by a group of people without any of them meeting, each artists simply responding to what the image was when they received it. The postal versions generated some excellent results but there was a limited return on the involvement (lots of them got lost in the post!)

Since then the project has taken various forms, from large scale communal drawing at a comedy club to the production of comic's one image at a time at a pre-1959 music event. All of these outcomes are tied together by the simple rules of the Round-about:

• Add to what is already there

• Don't obliterate anyone else's work

• Pass it on to the next person when you're done.

The first public display of all of these outcomes will form one element of Round-about Live, but there will also be more!

•Any one attending the exhibition will have the opportunity to partake in the development of a new collaborative square by square comic book as well as add to a large-scale collaborative drawing

•A range of local and national artists will be working on a series of collaborative images. The times each artist will be working will be available at the exhibition so the development of the images can be charted by returning audiences

•These artists will also display some of their own personal individual work, offering the audience the opportunity to see if they can identify each artists bit of the collaborative images.

The Art Organisation is on Station St in Nottingham. The exhibition will be open from Tuesday 28th August to Saturday 8th September from 11.00 am 6.30 pm (not Sunday 2nd)
